USAF Dog Tag Military

USAF dog tag found that belonged to Robert M Luetgert. The family were tracked down and the dog tag was returned back to them. They live in Illnois but their grandad was in the United States Air Force and spent time based at RAF Burtonwood in England. Attached are his discharge papers and his air passenger manifest.

The documents show that Robert was born on September 20th, 1934, was married and lived in Chicago. He signed up for 4 years on May 2, 1952 in Chicago, IL. It appears he undertook a course as Supply Tech at F E Warren AFB, Wyoming until October 1952 and then served at Burtonwood until April 1956 when he returned to the US and was discharged. He flew back direct from Burtonwood to New York on the Flying Tiger Line on 16th April 1956; Flight no ACON 937 W in aircraft registration N34954, a Douglas DC-6A.
