Spearhead Roman
Roman Spearhead crafted from iron with a leaf-like or triangular blade, this design was used for both throwing and thrusting. The central ridge running down the middle of the blade added strength, ensuring the spearhead could penetrate enemy armor and shields with ease.
Roman spearheads like this one were attached to two types of weapons. The first was the pilum, a heavy javelin designed to be thrown at the enemy. The second was the hasta, a thrusting spear used in close combat.
The pilums design allowed it to bend upon impact, rendering enemy shields useless. Meanwhile, the hasta was all about precision and power in hand-to-hand combat.
But we do think this spearhead is most likely from the hasta as the pilum spearheads are more bulbus in shape.
