Jacobean Shoe Buckle
This is a beautiful Jacobean Shoe buckle dating between 1660 and 1720. Shoe buckles became fashionable amongst the wealthy after the restoration og Charles II in 1660. For the first 20 years or so they were largely restricted to the noble or the wealthy. Their use didn't become widespread until the 1680s and by the 1720s these shoe buckles were in universal use amongst all social classes except fo the very poor.
