Egg Grenade Military

Egg grenade refers to a hand grenade with an oval or egg-like shape, designed to be small, compact, and easy to throw.

The defining characteristic of an egg grenade is its egg-shaped body, which makes it smaller and generally easier to handle and throw than traditional pineapple or cylindrical grenades.

Due to its compact size, it can be carried in larger quantities by soldiers, and it fits comfortably in the palm, allowing for a good grip and easy throwing.

They are lighter than many standard grenades, contributing to their ease of use.

Several countries have developed their versions of the egg grenade.

Some notable examples include:

Russian RGD-5: A classic example of an egg grenade, though slightly more cylindrical. It contains a high-explosive filling and uses a time-delay fuse.

German Model 17 (Stielhandgranate): Early versions were more cylindrical, but later "egg-style" models were developed. These were used primarily during World War I and World War II.

French F1 grenade: Another example that evolved into a more compact, egg-shaped grenade in later versions, known for its defensive capabilities with a lethal radius typically around 30 meters.

Egg grenades are a practical tool in modern warfare and tactical operations, providing a balance of convenience and firepower in a compact form.
