Coin German 10 Pfennig 1900

This Germany Empire 10 Pfennig 1900 J coin is a fascinating piece of history, minted during the reign of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the last German Emperor and King of Prussia, who ruled from 1888 until his abdication in 1918 at the end of World War I.

The German Empire 10 Pfennig coin was in circulation from 1873 to 1916 but This specific 1900 J version of the 10 Pfennig coin which was minted in Hamburg, would have entered circulation in the year 1900 and likely remained in use until 1916, when these types of copper-nickel coins were gradually withdrawn due to the economic strains of World War I. By 1916, many German coins were replaced with cheaper materials like zinc as the empire faced shortages of metals due to the war effort.
