Coin French 25 Centimes 1904
This 25 centimes coin is from France and is dated 1904. The obverse side of the coin features a classic depiction of Marianne who is a national emblem of the French Republic, symbolizing liberty and reason.
Marianne is not a single historical figure but rather a personification of the French Republic, representing its values and ideals. However, her character has been inspired by various women throughout history
She is often shown wearing a Phrygian cap, which represents freedom, and is typically portrayed in a bold, elegant style. The inscription "République Française" arches above her image, reinforcing the identity of the coin as a state-issued currency.
The reverse of the coin showcases an axe and laurel wreath surrounding the denomination "25 C" (for centimes) along with the date "1904." This symbolizes victory and honor, tying back to France's rich history of triumph and resilience.
The coin was struck at the Monnaie de Paris, the Paris Mint, known for its meticulous craftsmanship.
